Abstract : The Study "Methods of Teaching Listening skill in the First Level at The Arabic as a Foreign Language Institute at Umm Al-Qura University An Analytical and Applied Study" Aimed at studying the skill of listening, which is considered one of the most important four basic language skills, so there is a need to monitor the dimensions of this skill; as it has a direct impact on the design of language education programs for other languages speakers, It also, to be addressed in a scientific manner, helps to promote programs especially the First Level; to help the students for better linguistics attainments in all skills afterward. The study has deepened in its both sides the theoretical and, the practical ones; theoretically, it adopts the descriptive analytical methods of the scientific content of the topic in the educational program at the Institute, also depends on evaluative method in assessing that topic. As for the applied side, the field study adopted the application of the two questionnaires distributed to teachers and students, and then the listening test selected for the first level, and has been relying on statistical method in the analysis of statistical results. The conclusion of every chapter of the study contained its own observations and results. Then outlined all in the conclusion of the findings and recommendations of the study, including both theory and practical side, and from these most prominent results, is the lack of a separate teaching listening skills in the educational program, which makes the teaching of listening skills scattered in the topics of the educational books, and its subject approved by the plan of the educational program, and the recommendation in this orientation is to allocate a separate subject to teach listening skills that take into account the several findings and recommendations of this study, and it is also one of the most notable results, that the basic book in the program does not adopt a considered order of Arabic sounds, with the absence of the arrangement of all Arabic letters in a one page of the book. The recommendation is to adopt the modification of the book according to alphabetical order, or considered acoustic arrangement, the study contains detailed recommendations there in, the recommendation for all the letters, to attach them orderly in a separate page in the book.
