Document Language : Arabic
Abstract : The aim is to identify the impact of foreign education on students and to highlight ways to counter these effects and provide appropriate solutions and recommendations. The research methodology comprises historical description, inductive and constructive approaches, critical analysis, and field study. Interviews and questionnaires were used with a sample of students from some foreign high schools. The quantitative data generated were analysed using statistical software analysis packages, and the questionnaire reliability and validity were checked. This study offers a preface and an introduction to the situation of international schools in the Islamic world, followed by four chapters. The first chapter examines the origins and objectives of international schools in Saudi Arabia, while the second chapter discusses the reality of international schools including educational stages and environment, international programmes in private schools, accreditation, and the relationship between educational supervision in the Ministry of Education and the foreign schools. The third chapter highlights linguistic, ideological and national impacts of the international schools, while chapter four concludes by discussing ways to counter these effects and providing solutions. Some of the key results of this study follow: The motivations for joining foreign schools are learning a foreign language, the strength of the curriculum, developing critical thinking, and globally recognised qualifications. Finding suitable alternatives for foreign schools through the expansion of private schools which combine the quality of education and the conservation of cultural characteristics. Foreign education's role in transmitting of doctrines and thoughts such as Westernisation and secularism and in weakening students’ mother tongues. Multicultural people in one nation weaken the position of nationals.
