This study is a verification of the manuscript (Sharh Al-Manthooma Al-Zahiya
fi Al-Osool Al-Fiqhiyah) by Sheikh Mohammad Amin Al-Safarjalani (died 1335H.).
This manuscript is a fundamental explanation in the form of questions and answers
on this poem, both by Al-Safarjalani, who seeks, through his book, to approximate
understanding the science of the Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence and make it easy
for understanding by its learner. So, he combines two teaching methods: first, the
poetry method, which is, naturally, easy for memorizing and retrieving the
information through its verses. Second, the method of questions and answers, which
is a known method in writing among the preceding writers and the later ones to
come. The research aims to: (1) State the most prominent books on Islamic
jurisprudence in the fourteenth-century- Damascus. (2) Produce the verified text in a
scientific way with illustrating its terms and verifying its questions. (3) State the
author’s fundamentalist choices and his jurisprudential preferences. The research is
divided into an Introduction and two sections as follows: The Introduction, which
includes the significance of the manuscript, reasons for choosing it, the verification’s
method, and the research’s plan. Section One: the Study’s section which includes
four topics.: Topic One, the landmarks of the fundamentalist thought in the
fourteenth century (The Principles of Jurisprudence in Damascus as a model). Topic
Two, the author’s age (Damascus at the end of the thirteenth century and the
beginning of the fourteenth century). Topic Three, Introducing the author. Topic
four, Introducing the book. Section Two: The verification process, which includes a
preface on the description of the manuscript and its transcription, the method of the
verification, and the verified text. |
